Truro and surrounds

Region: Cornwall
Monuments: The Cathedral - Royal Cornwall Museum. - Trewithen and Trelissik gardens.

Truro is the administrative capital of Cornwall. The many gracious Georgian buildings witness the town’s prosperity from tin mining in the 1800´s.

In 1876 the diocese of Truro was created on completion of the cathedral, the first to be built since Wren finished St Paul's almost 200 years before hand.

There are quaint cobbled streets to explore and to shop in and the Museum has interesting displays on mining, smuggling and archaeology.

Nearby there are two important gardens to visit, Trewithen and Trelissik.
